Q-Industries Continues Growth in Web Development with New Executive Hires and Appointment

Additions bolster client relations, quality of service as websites become more complex

Washington, D.C. - August 7, 2007 - Q-Industries, an interactive agency that designs and builds online brands, websites and Internet-based applications announces the addition of three key staff positions and an executive appointment. The moves include the hiring of Patrick Bobst as Director of Client Services; Phil Reed as Managing Director; Jill Clawson as Senior Account Manager; and the naming of Jay McDowell to Vice President of Operations.

The additions are part of Q-Industries’ overall growth, which includes a doubling of the company’s staff over the past 18 months and the increased demand for its custom website development, social networking, and new media expertise. The appointment of seasoned, experienced executives will ensure that Q’s clients are provided with highly responsive service – from strategy through delivery of sophisticated websites and applications.

Jay McDowell, previously Senior Director, has been named as Vice President of Operations, where he’ll be responsible for the end-to-end client service, overseeing sales, administration, operations and account management. McDowell, who joined Q in January of 2006, will continue to focus on building a more efficient, process-oriented organization – improving and refining the company’s processes and communications internally and with clients. Prior to joining Q, McDowell was with Gene Logic of Gaithersburg. He is a graduate of George Washington University.

Phil Reed, Managing Director, will be responsible for overall account management and client satisfaction. He’ll direct an account management model that emphasizes a deep understanding of each client’s business, guiding them through the development and delivery of Internet technologies, with a focus on quality throughout the lifecycle of each project. Prior to joining Q, Reed was Managing Director at Reston-based Proxicom for 10 years, an interactive agency where he led automotive and consumer accounts. Reed will report to Jay McDowell, VP of Operations.

Patrick Bobst, Director of Client Services, is responsible for overseeing the design, development, software testing and quality assurance for all client projects and services. Bobst brings extensive experience in technology development and implementation. Prior to joining Q, he was Director, Web Publishing at FDC Reports, Inc. (Elsevier); Project Manager, Editorial Technology with BNA/Tax Management; and Manager of Electronic Product Development at LEXIS Publishing. Bobst holds an M.S. from the University of Virginia.

Jill Clawson, Senior Account Manager, will focus on client relations, advising and working with companies on web development and service requirements. Clawson will be responsible for projects from inception to completion for association, non-profit, commercial, and government clients. Prior to joining Q, Clawson was Vice President of Management Options, Inc., where she also served as the Executive Director for the American Institute of Chemists. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Tim Neill, President & CEO of Q-Industries, said, "As the Internet and web tools evolve, companies will need to find the best way to build these capabilities into their businesses. But this is not purely an IT business. At the intersection of the client’s needs and the technology is the overriding importance of people working with people." Neill continued, "We’re thrilled to attract, hire, and promote people of this caliber with these proven abilities."
